'He reminds me of my younger self' – Beauden Barrett urges patience with Damian McKenzie

All Blacks superstar Beauden Barrett has compared himself to young fullback Damian McKenzie, ahead of his side's clash with France in Paris on Sunday.

McKenzie, 22, has ascended to the role of first-choice All Blacks fullback this season, although his ability and preference to play at first-five has seen him compared to Barrett.

"He sometimes reminds me of my younger self," Barrett said.

"I get excited every time he gets the ball because I know what he can do."

"He's going to get better and better just by experience."
