All Blacks' utility back Damian McKenzie admits he still has a lot to improve on his game as his side prepares to take on France in Paris on Sunday.
McKenzie, 22, has been named to start at fullback for the All Blacks.
The livewire fullback admits to still feeling the hurt of his first loss playing for the All Blacks, when the New Zealand side went down to the Wallabies 23-18 in Brisbane last month.
"The first loss for myself, it took a while for myself to sink in to get over that loss," said McKenzie.
But McKenzie says the experience has helped him find areas in his game he needs to tweak.
"Moving forward I think it was probably a good learning for myself, what it's like at Test level rugby and how I need to improve to better myself for the games ahead."
McKenzie said he needs to improve his decision making on the field.
"I guess around my option taking probably and around what's right and what's not right, you know being smart around my footy," said McKenzie.
"I guess at times I like to take a few risks around how I play and I guess it's about getting that balance right between high risk and high reward."
The All Blacks face France at 8.45am (NZ time).
