Two women robbed an Auckland dairy, then jumped into a car, threatened the driver with a knife and demanded to be driven to a train station.

Police have told 1 NEWS officers responded to a report of robbery at a dairy in Mt Roskill this afternoon where cash and cigarettes were taken.

After fleeing the shop, the two female suspects got into a car, threatened the driver and demanded to be taken to a train station.

Inquiries into the incident are ongoing, a police spokesperson said.

The dairy owners say it’s the third time they’ve been robbed this year.

The owners didn't want their dairy to be named out of fear of becoming a target for yet another hold-up.
