Tamati Coffey delivered his maiden speech in Parliament today, the entirety of which can be viewed here.
Mr Coffey, a former TVNZ weather presenter, began his speech in Te Reo Maori, before continuing in English.
He spoke on a wide range of subjects, including his upbringing and journey into the world of politics, as well as how he intends to be a voice for many different groups of Kiwis while in Parliament.
The Labour MP received a standing ovation from his colleagues for the speech and a Maori waiata broke out from the public gallery upon its conclusion.
