A car fire that forced the closure of Auckland's Victoria Park tunnel has been dealt with but backed up traffic will take some time to clear.
The fire happened this morning in the tunnel which is a major route for northbound traffic through central Auckland.
It was dealt with and the New Zealand Transport Agency says all lanes are now open but motorists should expect long delays and consider using State Highways 16 and 18 to get to the North Shore.
