Ryan Crotty's trip down memory lane has been given a cheeky prod from All Blacks teammate Sam Cane after the loose forward reminded Crotty of his last encounter with French centre Mathieu Bastareaud.

Crotty and Cane were speaking about the French squad in this morning's press conference when Crotty, 29, was asked if he'd ever matched up against the Toulon captain.
"In age group level, yeah," Crotty said.
Crotty went on to comment on the size of the French powerhouse - but Cane then cut him off with a brazen question.

"It was 10 years ago wasn't it?" he asked.
"Yeah, it was a long time," Crotty admitted before going red-faced and laughing.

"Come on mate!"
Crotty was quick to try and get things back on track though.
"He was just as big then as he is now but yes, that was a couple of years ago now.
"If I get the opportunity to play against him it would be pretty exciting."
Bastareaud was dropped from the French team two years ago after his side's humiliating 62-13 loss to the All Blacks in the Rugby World Cup quarter-final, but has since been welcomed back into the squad for this weekend's Test.
