Peru's faithful have turned out in numbers to welcome their national football team to New Zealand ahead of their World Cup qualifier on Saturday with chants, drums and dances all ready to go upon the team's arrival.
Fans have gathered at the arrival gate of Auckland International Airport with the team expected to touch down this morning.
"Since I was little, I've been watching Peru since I was the age of 10," one fan told 1 NEWS.
"It's special to me to see them live in the country I was born in."
Peru will play the All Whites in Wellington on Saturday before heading for South America and the return leg.
