PM job has 'extraordinary elements' as one of the world's youngest leaders, says Jacinda Arern

November 7, 2017

Jacinda Ardern was asked today about the pressures of being one of the world's youngest world leaders during an interview with Reuters, and receiving calls from other Prime Ministers and Presidents on her appointment as PM.

"Of course there is a huge amount of work around international diplomacy and contact with world leaders," she said.

"There are certainly moments around the office that you don't anticipate until you get to the moment where you’re there and you're doing it."

Ms Ardern said there were "extraordinary elements" to being PM, that during the campaign season gives way to developing plans around health, education and child poverty.
