World famous Kiwi popstar Lorde (Ella Yelich-O'Connor) is celebrating her 21st birthday today, with the joyous occasion a good time for her to celebrate all her success in recent years.
Over the last four years Lorde has cleaned up at the Grammy Awards, had number one hits and become friends with other A-list popstars such as Taylor Swift.
Not a bad resume for the now 21-year-old from Auckland.
Last night TVNZ1's Seven Sharp hit the streets to get some birthday well wishes for Lorde from Kiwi fans, as well as asking them what advice they would have for their 21-year-old self.
"Think about others more, be less self-absorbed," one person said.
"Once you decide to do something, stick with it, and try and see it through to the end," said another.
And when it comes to Lordes birthday, the message was loud and clear.
"Happy Birthday Lorde! Happy Birthday!"
