Luke Romano is displaying the battle scars of another physical encounter with the All Blacks after fronting media with a black eye and stitches a day after playing against the Barbarians.

Romano required medical attention in yesterday's 31-22 win over the Baabaas at Twickenham, but if he had it his way, he would've carried on.

"It's just part and parcel of playing a contact game," he told 1 NEWS' Joy Reid, overnight.

"I said to Doc at the time, 'just staple me up and send me back in there,' but he said, 'na, na, na, we need to get that stitched up properly'."

The 31-year-old admitted he hadn't watch game vision to see what caused the cut and bruising but admitted it could've easily been a Kiwi.

"It might have actually been a Kiwi because there's a few Kiwis in the Baabaas team so it could've actaully been friendly fire!"

Romano and his battle scars are now headed to Paris with the All Blacks playing France for their first Test of this year's northern tour this Sunday morning at 8:30am.
