Passionate Tongan and Samoan rugby league fans turned out in numbers despite the rain in a pre-match ceremony, dancing and singing together on the outer fields of the Waikato Stadium in Hamilton today.

The Rugby League World Cup match between the two Pacific nations isn't set to start until 7.30pm tonight between Mate Ma'a Tonga and Toa Samoa.

But that hasn't stopped the passionate Pacific Island fans from getting the party started early.
