Asafo Aumua became All Black No. 1162 in this morning's match against the Barbarians - and the 20-year-old admitted he had to stop himself getting too emotional when he did.
Aumua entered the game for Nathan Harris with 12 minutes to go in the match at Twickenham, but he admitted he was feeling tears well before then.
"I had to hold back a few tears, I was getting quite emotional," Aumua said about performing the haka.
Steve Hansen said they aren't overloading the youngster and that he still has a lot to learn. (Source: Other)
"I was lucky just to get on the field to be honest."
Aumua said after the 31-22 win he was still caught up in the moment.
"I'm pretty speechless right now to put on my first cap," he said.
Aumua is one of four new players included in the All Blacks' Northern hemisphere tour. (Source: Other)
"I'm honoured to put on the jersey and play for the boys, my country and my family."
