The Samoa rugby league team have been reminded what it means to be part of Toa Samoa thanks to an inspiration speech from Sir Michael Jones at their jersey ceremony ahead of their first World Cup match against the Kiwis.
The former All Black stopped by the Samoa camp to fire up the troops for tonight's game at Mount Smart Stadium, telling players the journey to this point will be with them when they take the field tonight.
"When you put this on, it's like another weapon," Sir Jones said as he held one of the Toa Samoa playing tops.
"When you put it on, when you pull it over yourself and it's on your chest, everything that represents and symbolises this [uniform] is everything that you've given - your blood, sweat and tears.
"This jersey represents your destiny."
Toa Samoa play the Kiwis at 8pm tonight.
