October 27, 2017

A toddler in China was the subject of a dramatic rescue after falling into a six metre-deep hole that had a narrow opening of only four inches.

The two-year-old boy was walking near a construction site with his parents in Nantong on October 19 when he fell into the hole.

Fire Services were called into action, bringing in two diggers to excavate the narrow tube out from the ground and rescue the toddler.

Footage of the dramatic rescue shows the desperate operation unfold, with the boy eventually being freed from the tube and whisked away in the arms of a firefighter to applause from a crowd of people above.

The boy was trapped for two hours and had no serious injuries.
