Woman trapped in car that crashed into pole in Foxton, bringing down power lines

One person is trapped and seriously injured in a car that crashed into a power pole in the Horowhenua District, bringing power lines onto the road.

A Fire Service spokesperson told 1 NEWS they are working with ambulance and police to extricate the person at the scene on Motuiti Rd, Foxton.

An ambulance spokesperson said a female has serious leg injuries and will be transported to hospital by helicopter.

Police said they were called to the scene at 3.40pm and that as a result of the crash there are power lines down on the road.

All emergency services are still on the scene.
