Russia's Ministry of Defence has test-fired its immense RS-28 'Satan 2' Sarmat ICBM, as well as launching numerous other strikes during extensive testing overnight.
The Satan 2 missile was fired form the Plestek Cosmodrome and travelled 3600 miles (5793km) before hitting a target, The Daily Mail reported.
Test launches of ballistic missiles also took place in other areas, with three bombers hitting ground targets using missiles.
Two of those launches took place in the Sea of Otchosk - just north of Japan and very close to North Korea.
The ministry said in a statement that Russian forces had "carried out an exercise to manage its strategic nuclear forces".
"All objectives of the training have been successfully completed".
The Satan 2 weighs more than 100 tonnes itselves has an estimated payload of about 10 tonnes.
It can potentially carry a nuclear warhead with a yield of 50Mt, which is equal to the largest nuclear warhead ever detonated - the RDS-220 'Tsar Bomba' in October of 1961.
