Waikato police are sending out a simple message to drivers – don't throw rocks at speed camera vans.
Policeman Jack has posted a video on Facebook today asking drivers to watch their speed and not throw objects at speed camera vans on the side of the road.
Jack shared the story of one speed camera operator who was nearly hit by rock during one of her shifts.
"A big rock came through the window and she had to duck to avoid it and it completely smashed the glass all over. Which is pretty mean eh?
"I know it's not nice getting a speed ticket but at the end of the day if you're not speeding you’re not going to get one."
Jack says there has been a number of incidents of drivers throwing objects at speed camera vans.
His advice to drivers – "No throwing rocks!"
