A truck driver has been suspended after another motorist caught him on camera driving down the wrong side of the road on State Highway 1 near Dunedin.
Video of the incident, which took place over the busy Labour Weekend period, was provided to Newshub.
The footage shows a truck belonging to freight company Big Chill Distribution slowly swerving over the centre line numerous times before correcting itself.
The most shocking piece of video is near the end of the clip, when the massive truck and trailer drives on the wrong side of the road for a concerning amount of time, drawing gasps from those filming in the vehicle behind.
A spokesman for the freight company was contacted by Newshub for comment saying: "We are presently undertaking a full investigation on the matter, and this will take a number of days to be closed out.
"Whilst this process is undertaken, the driver concerned has been suspended, on full pay, from his duties."
According to Newshub police are also investigating and urge motorists to continue to "report any driving behaviour of this nature."
