West Australian police are still investigating what a witness describes as the worst driving he's seen in 30 years in which a ute driver drifted across freeway lanes for nearly half an hour.
The witness, named only as Simon, had his dashcam on as he followed the wayward ute on Perth's Mitchell Freeway on Friday night.
His vision, included in a report by 7 News, shows the ute drifting erratically across lanes, forcing other drivers to take evasive action.
At one stage the ute exited the freeway and pulled over, before going back onto it.
Simon is heard calling police and saying: "He's all over the road, crossing lanes. I'm gonna follow this guy if you want me to."
The officer replies: "No, please stay away. He's dangerous, he's going to hurt someone. I'm going to put a job on to try and intercept him."
"Seriously, he's going to kill someone," the witness stresses.
"It's the worst driving and the worst instance I've seen of that in over 30 years," Simon later said as he recalled what he had witnessed.
"I wasn't going to just let it go and not worry about it and not have any consequences."
The company that owns the ute said "appropriate action" would be taken once it established who was driving.
Police are also investigating the driver's behaviour.
