Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has posted a picture of himself talking to Jacinda Ardern on Skype today, saying he is eager to meet New Zealand's new Prime Minister-elect in person.
The two leaders would have had a lot to talk about, with them both experiencing extraordinarily fast rises into power.
Trudeau became Canada's second youngest Prime Minister at the age of 43, with his victory in 2015, while Jacinda Ardern will become New Zealand's second youngest Prime Minister when she takes office this week at 37 years of age.
Posting the image of the Skype chat to his Twitter feed today, the Canadian Prime Minister wrote: "Skype chat with New Zealand PM-designate @jacindaardern! Eager to meet in person soon to keep building ties & trade between our countries."
With 3.73 million followers on his account, there is sure to be a lot of new interest in Jacinda Ardern and the politics of our country.
Ardern yesterday spoke with US President Donald Trump, when he passed on his "warm regards" to the "people of New Zealand".
