Nehe Milner-Skudder is keeping a positive attitude about his upcoming recovery after sharing good news of his latest shoulder surgery.
The All Blacks wing shared a photo on social media of his right arm in a sling with a thumbs up while still in a hospital bed following the rotator cuff surgery.
"[The operation was] similar to the surgery on my left wing last year," he wrote in the photo's caption.
"Rehab / Recovery should be around 6-7months, however first stage is a couple weeks rest while the wounds heal and then go from there."
Milner-Skudder was hurt after he landed awkwardly, in the All Blacks' 25-24 win over the Springboks two weeks ago in Cape Town.
It's the latest injury to halt the progress of the 26-year-old 2015 World Rugby Breakthrough Player of the Year - a similar injury to his left shoulder and ankle issues ruled him out of selection from the All Blacks from the 2015 Rugby World Cup final right up until this year's Rugby Championship.
But the Hurricanes star says he's learned a lot about himself in those two tough years.
"I have learned from past injuries to not worry about what is out of my control, take it one step at a time and focus on the "here & now".
"Combine those with a relentless drive to come back stronger and I know I've got this."
