Potato chip lovers maybe out of luck until the New Year to get their hands on a packet of crisps as New Zealand experiences a "nationwide potato shortage".
A Pak'n Save customer has taken to Twitter to share a notice from the supermarket, warning shoppers they are "having trouble stocking potato chips".
The shortage has been caused by a wet winter inflicting significant damage to crops, according to the NZ Herald.
A Foodstuffs spokeswoman said some potato chip suppliers are "having challenges meeting demand" due to wet weather.
"It is anticipated new season crops will be harvested in the next few weeks so supply is likely to settle down then," the Foodstuffs spokeswoman said.
