A Queensland woman has taken to social media to defend a dad who was abused by a stranger for being in a baby changing room.
Mikaa Ives wrote on Facebook that she was in a Kawana shopping mall's baby changing room last month where she witnessed a woman call a dad a "sicko" for being in the changing room with other mothers.
"Now there was a dad in the middle of changing his son's nappy, already having a difficult time with his son not wanting to be changed, then the lady piped up and started abusing the dad for being in the parents' room," Ms Ives wrote.
"'It's only for mothers, get out you sicko', literally saying she would call security and say he was staring at her naked kids if he didn't leave the room."
Picking up his son, the man was about to leave the room when Ms Ives stepped in.
"[I] told the dad to come back in and finish changing his son, told the lady that if she wanted to call security to go ahead because I would 100 per cent back the dad up."
The dad finished changing his son and thanked Ms Ives before leaving the parents' room.
Ms Ives wrote that on leaving the parents' room with her children she told security about the woman's abusive behaviour towards another parent.
"If you're one of the people who act like that when a dad is simply changing his child, then I suggest you stay the f*** away from the PARENTS room."
