Raw: Shocking moment speeding car ploughs into unsuspecting pedestrian, rag-dolling him nine metres in the air

October 4, 2017

A British man has pleaded guilty to a shocking hit-and-run which caused a serious head injury for a East Sussex father of three.

Andy Payne was crossing a road early last year when a car driven by Adam McDermott came careering around a corner and ploughed right into him.

The 53-year-old was thrown nine metres into the air before landing in the middle of the road.

CCTV footage captured the whole incident.

According to the Daily Mirror, Mr Payne suffered memory loss from a head injury caused by the collision.

McDermott pleaded guilty to causing serious injury for dangerous driving in court yesterday.

He also admitted to perverting the course of justice for setting his vehicle on fire following the incident.

He then made an insurance claim saying his vehicle had been stolen.
