Adele's 360 degree in-the-round stage coming to life at Auckland concert venue

March 22, 2017

Adele's 360 degree in-the-round production stage is coming to life at Auckland's Mount Smart Stadium ahead of the British singer's three sold out concerts.

The Hello hitmaker is set to take the stage tomorrow, Saturday and Sunday, performing in front of over 45,000 fans.

A photo has been posted on Twitter of the stage that is 25 metres in height, has 761 lights in the lighting rig and features 192 speaker boxes, each containing 1,280 individual speakers.

Throughout her concerts, confetti is released from 122 confetti machines and video is screened above the stage, having 18,591, 744 video pixels.

The British singer's 140 tons of production equipment was flown in two 747 freighters, making two return trips each from Melbourne to Auckland.

Parts of the stage were shipped in 12x40 shipping containers from Sydney on Wednesday and arrived in Tauranga on Saturday night.

The stage takes a total of 59 hours to set up and is the first "in the round" stadium tour for 20 years.

Commuters are being warned to expect delays tomorrow afternoon as ticket holders flock to Mount Smart Stadium at the end of peak hour traffic.

Auckland Transport says there won't be any event buses travelling from the North Shore, with options limited to catching Northern Express services for free from 3:30pm into the city by showing concert tickets.

From there, passengers are told to follow the signage to the event buses or trains in the city.
